The holiday season is here, a time of celebration and a time of giving back! Cystic Fibrosis Canada (CF Canada) recently rolled out its “31 Reasons To Give” campaign which features 19 families affected by cystic fibrosis and 31 reasons (one for every day in December) to donate to CF Canada throughout the holiday season, raising critical funds for cystic fibrosis (CF) research and care.

“We are motivated by the stories from families and individuals affected by CF in our community and the moments that all of us, no matter our health, can identify with,” said Jennifer Nebesky, Interim Co-CEO and Chief Marketing Officer, Cystic Fibrosis Canada. “Building on the success of our first-ever fully integrated campaign in 2016, our goal is to reach even more Canadians this year to help more people understand the impact of CF. Above all, we hope the personal stories from our community inspire Canadians to give this holiday season. Every dollar counts as we are closer than ever to a cure.”

People who live with the chronic illness are everyday people, your neighbour, co-worker, family member.  Their days may include medical interventions, pills and doctor visits, but they’re also filled with regular, everyday activities. They drop their children to school, volunteer at the local humane society, hang out with friends, dream about starring in their own rock band, go to work.

“Now more than ever, raising funds for cystic fibrosis research and care in Canada is critical. The strides being made in the fight to end CF are monumental, with advancements like new life-changing drugs in the pipeline and the median age of survival in Canada reaching 53.3 years,” says Mitch LePage, National Chair of the Board of Directors. “As someone whose family member is personally affected by CF, I know this campaign speaks to the incredible stories in our community and progress being made. Despite this progress, a cure has yet to be found, and so we remain committed to finding a cure or control for CF. All funds donated will help us get there.”

The campaign, which began November 28 and will end December 31, highlights a different reason each day throughout the month of December to donate to Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Accompanied by a robust digital marketing, social media and direct mail strategy, the campaign kicked off on Giving Tuesday. Cystic Fibrosis Canada worked with VivaMedia for photography and video production and partnered with Grassriots to manage the online campaign and Engaging Networks to elevate its online fundraising platform.
