Pelmorex Appoints Sam Sebastian As CEO, Enters Next Phase Of Expansion

In 1989, when Pierre Morrissette created Pelmorex Media, or what many consumers know as The Weather Network, he created something that would ultimately change the lives of millions on a daily basis by delivering he day’s weather forecast to our screens, newspapers and radios.
As Pelmorex Media looks to enter new chapter of its business evolution they have hired Sam Sebastian as the the President and CEO.
Previously, Sam Sebastian was Google Vice President and Managing Director of Canadian Operations, he joined Google in May 2014.

Pelmorex Corp. Future Looks Bright With New CEO At The Helm

Pierre commented on the news saying, “We have been focused on addressing the company’s CEO succession needs as well as attracting top talent to execute the company’s transformative strategy and aggressive international expansion plans”. He added, “Sam is a perfect fit, both culturally and in terms of experience and expertise. Simply put, he is a tremendous leader and a great people person. Sam is the steward that we have been looking for and we are thrilled to hand over the reins of our family business to him. We have come a long way since 1989 but today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter and we are only getting started.”

The company has also announced its rebranding to Pelmorex Corp. from its previous official name of Pelmorex Media Inc. which owns and operated The Weather Network, MétéoMédia, Eltiempo.es and Clima brands. The name change also reflects further product expansion beyond media.
