As they aim to expand their market share in Canada, programmatic vendor Xaxis has appointed Perry Di Iorio as Director of Sales, Canada. In the role, Perry will be responsible for driving new business in both the English and French-language Canadian markets with a focus on developing direct client relationships as well as growing sales within the extended WPP family. In addition to Xaxis, he will play a central role in building momentum for both Xaxis’ performance business, Light Reaction, and its native advertising unit, plista.
With almost two decades of experience in the Canadian digital advertising industry some highlights of Perry’s career include helping launch ESPN in Canada as director, sales and marketing at Crucial interactive. He also played a key role in the successful debut of the SportsNet digital platform as manager, interactive sales at Rogers Media.
Prior to joining Xaxis, Perry was a sales consultant for Readers Digest where he assisted in the re-launch of the iconic magazine brand’s digital properties. He was Director of Business Development for TC Media.
Fun Fact: Before getting into the advertising industry, Perry at one point worked as the head waiter at Montreal’s first exclusive Cheesecake Espresso bar called Franny’s on Monkland Street in NDG, one of the early hipster neighborhoods.
