Breaking: GroupM Acquires The Exchange Lab, Aitken Steps Down

WPP’s GroupM has just announced that it has acquired The Exchange Lab for an undisclosed sum. The Exchange Lab will become a core component of Connect, part of GroupM, to expand its multi-platform (meta-DSP) approach.

The Exchange Lab has approximately 130 employees working in offices in London, New York, Chicago, Singapore, and Toronto, serving 700 clients this year. The company was Co-Founded by James Aitken and Tim Webster in 2007.  As part of the acquisition James Aitken will be stepping down from his role as CEO to pursue outside investment interests. Moving forward, Executive Chairman, Chris Dobson, will take the role of CEO.  Tim Webster has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer. Dobson will report directly to Rudiger Wanck, Global CEO of Connect, GroupM Global.
