Bell Media Prepares “Project Latte,” Streaming Video Service

Bell MediaBell Media recently announced, they will be launching a video streaming service which will give consumers access to Pay, Specialty, and Network TV landscapes, the on-demand subscription service currently code-named “Project Latte.”

“We built Project Latte as a complementary service that will delight and amaze viewers with thousands of hours of premium entertainment available on-demand and on the device of their choice,” said Kevin Crull, President, Bell Media. “Project Latte addresses a significant gap in the Canadian TV system and allows TV providers to greatly enhance the value they provide to their clients. We are incredibly excited about the potential for this product and how it fits into our overall portfolio of Canada’s best television brands and programs.”

Back in August, Rogers Media and Shaw Media announced a new partnership to bring their join streaming video service which is called shomi. One advantage that Bell might have is its 10% guarantee of HBO content will be included in the service as soon as it is launched.  No pricing information is available yet, but the service will be available across set-top box, apps, online, and other platforms.
