Since being named Managing Director for Google Canada in 2010, Chris O’Neill has done a great job to build out Google’s team in the country, and grow the revenue substantially. This week news broke that he will be leaving the post and moving to Google’s Mountain View headquarters and will head up day to day operations for Google [X] and work on the Google Glass project. Chris has been with Google since 2005, joining as Manager Financial Services, then promoted to Regional Sales Director, West, and then Director, Retail.
As Google looks to make a big push and full retail launch with Google Glass Chris’ background is a natural fit. Chris was the second person to take the helm as Managing Director for Google Canada after Wendy Muller after four years. Chris is being replaced by Sam Sebastian.
