Two of the biggest days for most retailers are coming up quickly – Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  The days take place on the Friday and Monday after Thanksgiving respectively, and in the past have represented a huge surge in purchases conducted online.

It has already been estimated that this year’s Cyber Monday could yield $1.8bn in sales, but when exactly will people be spending the most.

Value Click’s created the infographic below which shows that most purchasing will take place in the evening between 6.30pm and 10pm, peaking at around 8pm. Compare this to a normal weekday where peak shopping activity is between 1pm and 3pm.  Also interesting to note, 43 per cent of the transactions made on tablets on Cyber Monday will also occur during this peak time, but the largets number of mobile purchases will occur during lunchtime at around 1pm.
