ConstructionWe are still confirming this one, but we have heard that Yahoo Canada has found its new Country Manager. We first reported a few weeks ago that the Internet giant has been looking to solidify leadership for Canada with someone that is based in Canada (something we’ve said they need over and over).

Previous names that have come up as possible candidates include Simon Jennings (running Gesca Media Sales , and Patrick Lauzon (now over at TC Media). Now we are hearing that Claude Galipeau has been appointed as the new Country Manager for Yahoo Canada. Claude has been running his own consulting firm. Prior to that he was COO of the now bankrupt Syncapse, SVP and GM of Rogers Digital Media.

Claude knows the Canadian markeplace, he has experience working for larger enterprise organization, and this is a new day for the “acquisition hungry” Yahoo.
