In game changing news this week, Prime Minister Stephen Harper unveiled his new cabinet on Twitter as he took to the social network in a series of tweets. One one hand it is great to see the leader of Canada embracing technology, but at mid-2013 what’s taken him so long? Looking at his counter-part to the south, Barack Obama has 34,322,966 followers to Harper’s 365,055, but it is not completely fair to compare as the US has about 10 times the population of Canada. However, if we look at their engagement, or specifically the number of tweets each (or their camp) has sent – Harper has sent 1,388 tweets while Obama has sent 9,504.
At least he wasn’t caught in video smoking crack and become the butt of a late night joke, just saying…
