Kijiji Canada experienced a strong year in 2012 with over $1 billion transactions taking place on the online classified site which represents close to two ads being posted every second. Kijiji has launched their latest national campaign that gives customers a lot to feel good about. The Local Heroes campaign focuses on the everyday people who are driving the transactions on Kijiji, celebrating them as “heroes.”
“The Local Heroes campaign highlights the type of stories we hear all the time from our customers – how good they feel when they’ve scored a great deal or sold something that they would have otherwise thrown out,” said Bart Molenda, Head of Marketing, Kijiji Canada. “Buying and selling on Kijiji really is a win/win situation – people are being heroes by using Kijiji as a responsible alternative to retail and we’ve tapped into that insight to develop this campaign.”
One of the campaign’s goals is to convey the functional benefits of using Kijiji, and that Kijiji is community-based online shopping destinations in Canada.
The Local Heroes concept features a 30-second TV spot, and two 15-second spots for buy and sell and automotive. The first spot will begin airing nationally on February 18, 2013 with the two 15-second spots following in March.
