Facebook Messenger Gains Voip Offering, Starts Testing Exclusively In Canada First

Jordan-Banks-FacebookFacebook announced this week that is has begun testing of its latest version of Facebook Messenger which has added the ability to send voice clips and voice over IP (VoIP).  The updated Facebook app is already available for iOS and Android users.  The company has also said that over the next few weeks Facebook will be testing the ability to call other Messenger users for free from the app. The test starts in Canada on iOS.

 

This is pretty big move for Facebook to test a product in Canada first, and hopefully one that will start a shift in how the companies brings new products to the market, after all, Canadians are very loyal to Facebook, and at one point was the fastest growing country for Facebook users.  Hey Google Canada, are you
