BMO Announces New Partnership With Monitise, Aims To Deliver Mobile Servies Solution, Soon

mobileWe a while now we’ve heard that Canadians are ready for a world where mobile payments are the ‘norm,’  especially as more Canadians switch to using smartphones.  Rogers and CIBC’s mobile payment solution became available to customers a few months ago,  and RBC also announced their plans to provide a mobile payment solution very soon.

This morning, BMO Bank of Montreal and Monitise plc announced the signing of a new alliance where they will develop new “mobile money services”, which will use Monitise’s technology platform which offers mobile banking, payment and commerce services.  According to the press release, Bank of Montreal (BMO) to offer customers intuitive and advanced mobile money services.

No word yet on exactly what the new BMO solution will provider consumers, so for now we’ll have to stay tuned….
