Simon Jennings Appointed President of Gesca Media Sales Toronto

Simon Jennings has been appointed President of Gesca Media Sales for a soon to be launched Toronto office.  Gesca Media’s properties, which include La Presse, Le Soleil, Le Nouvelliste, Le Droit, La Tribune, Le Quotidien and La Voix de l’Est.  Gesca Ltd., is the wholly-owned Canadian publishing subsidiary of Power Corporation of Canada whose holdings constitute Canada’s largest French-language daily newspaper group.  Back in 2006, a partnership agreement was signed between between Olive Media and Gesca for an online advertising representation deal with classified site live.ca.

Simon is the guy who launched Olive Media, and then left in January for Postmedia Network, but left shortly after.  As we had said earlier today, this is all party of a bigger plan for Torstar Digital and Olive Media. Olive Media will also continue to handle representation for the website Lapresse.ca. Simon will report to Luc Tremblay currently serves as Gesca Media Sales President of Canada, who was appointed to that position in January 2012.  The new Gesca Media Sales Toronto office is expected to open in the first quarter of 2013.
