As the kids get ready to hit the books, retailer Best Buy Canada launched a new back to school program called the Future Innovators Campaign.  The campaign is based on the insight that students are creating and innovating right from their dorm room- with the next big idea just about to be discovered. The university dorm room itself isn’t much to speak of. It has the standard four walls, a bed and likely a desk. And it also just might just be the same room some students have grown up in and spent much of their high school career in. But in this ordinary space, students are finding inspiration with their technology to create, invent and discover. Whether it’s the dorm room at school or the bedroom at their parents’ home, this is the space that is officially the innovation nerve centre for what will come tomorrow.

The campaign runs from August 13-September 9 and will launch with a TV ad on major networks like CTV, Global TV and CityTV and specialty channels like W network, YTV, Showcase, Comedy Channel, among others in major cities across Canada in both English and French.  Online ads will run on Yahoo, Sympatico and Google Search ads, and well as a dedicated YouTube channel that will house the spot.
