Canadian Boris Wertz Becomes Super Angel, Lauches $15 Million Micro-VC Fund Version One Ventures

It looks like Boris Wertz is having a pretty busy week, as the Canada, and Vancouver native was one of the invested to pour a total of $8 million into Top Hat Monocle. Today Boris announced he has launched his new $15 million micro-vc fund called Version One Ventures.

What Will Version One Ventures Fund?

Version One Ventures will focus on web and mobile entrepreneurs across North-America with $250,000 to $500,000 investments in Seed and Series A rounds.

As he states on his blog, “back passionate entrepreneurs who are trying to solve a big problem with a strong product vision.”

Boris has called upon a number of other Canadian successful entrepreneurs including Ryan Holmes, CEO of HootSuite, Markus Frind, Founder of dating site Plenty of Fish, and Patrick Lor, a Co-Founder ofiStockphoto, which was sold to Getty Images, and the new fund will be led by one-time CEO of Yahoo Jeff Mallet.
