In efforts to create a more powerful and integrated offering to clients, today digital agency 58Ninety Inc. has acquired Due North Communications.

“We’ve created one. to be an evolved marketing agency with a deep understanding of the business of brand building as well as the technology required to do so in a multi-channel digital age: an agency where the Brand truly gets digital and digital truly gets the Brand,” says Ted Boyd, who Co-Founded 58Ninety in 2006 as CEO and moves into the role of CEO at one.

“With digital always at the table, one. will offer clients a unique perspective and senior attention across all aspects of their business,” says Boyd. “one. is purpose-built to help clients capitalize on the increasing interplay between brands and technology and the impact this has on consumer engagement and other core business metrics.”

What led to 58Ninety’s acquisition of Due North Communications?

Let’s be honest, budgets are not what they used to be – clients now expect more and more for less.  Ted started to look at options on ways to evolve the business and bring a more a broader set of services, but with digital and technology remaining firmly within its DNA.  Over the past few years, Jill King (President) and Karen Howe (Senior Vice President, Creative Director) had been increasingly involved in the day to day management and leadership of the Due North business. Both were succeeding and thrived with their increased responsibilities, Weisbarth wanted to take Due North to the next level, creating even greater capabilities for the agency’s clients.

“one. allows us to create on a much larger canvas,” says Karen Howe, who carries on as Senior Vice President, Creative Director of one. “Our creative vision is to offer our clients enhanced firepower harnessed under one roof. We live and breathe an anti-silo mentality and we are truly media agnostic.”

“Our goal is to create brilliant solutions for our clients be they strategic, creative or technical. And though the solutions themselves may be increasingly complex, creating them need not be. This is the mission of one.” says Boyd.

The one office is located in downtown Toronto.
