With a new round of funding in the bank, Polar Mobile announced their own premium mobile advertising network, which they have called Polar Premium. To help advertisers target their desired audiences the new network is divided into channels, News & Business and Lifestyle & Entertainment.
“We are building on the success of our publishing platform and now helping our customers monetize premium mobile inventory. Smartphones and tablets have changed the way media is consumed and we recognize the opportunity for brands to reach and engage new audiences”, says Kunal Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Polar Mobile. “Hundreds of premium publishers work with Polar and long-term, we plan to leverage robust analytics from our software platform to provide brands with better intelligence on the audiences they are reaching through their mobile marketing efforts.”
The company has also hired Jeff Anderson as their new Vice President of Media Sales who will be entrenched in this new revenue stream for the mobile company. Jeff also brings with him 15 years of industry experience, having worked with AOL, Microsoft, Canwest and Pattison. Smart move on the part of Polar as they move away from solely developing mobile apps which has become a commodity business, and many companies starting to bring mobile development in-house. Polar will look to help the over 400 media brands it serves develop further revenue from the apps they have in the market place.
