The Competition Bureau confirmed this morning that it does not plan to challenge the $1.07 billion Bell/ Rogers’ acquisition of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE).  Bell and Rogers have long been rivals for many years so it did come as a shock to see them join forces to purchase Canada’s largest sports and entertainment company.  Each has paid the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan about $533 million for a 37.5 per ownership of MLSE.
