Do you think you have what it takes to outrock the cream of the crop? Ubisoft is giving nine lucky Canucks the chance to prove their heavy metal cred by winning the ultimate grand prize – an opportunity to challenge none other than Chris Broderick, lead guitarist for Megadeth, to a guitar duel at a stop on their Gigantour Canadian concert series.  This new campaign launched today and run until February 18 where Canadians are invited to upload a video of their best cover of one of three Megadeth songs – Public Enemy No. 1, Hangar 18 or Symphony of Destruction – to YouTube and share the link on the Hot Pick contest website (www.hotpickcontest.com).  Contestants are also encouraged to share the videos with friends via Facebook, Twitter and email. Videos with the most votes move on the final round where a panel of three judges will choose the top nine guitar gods.

These Broderick-wannabes will win two tickets to one of nine Megadeth shows in Canada. The winner in each market will have an opportunity to challenge Broderick to a competitive game of Rocksmith, which Ubisoft launched back in October 2011. If they beat Broderick’s score, they walk away with his guitar, and bragging rights of course.

For the campaign, Ubisoft leveraged their Facebook and YouTube channels, as well a microsoft site was created by Montreal-based creative studio, Akufen and public relations activities are supported by Edelman. Ubisoft Canada oversees all Facebook initiatives, including the Rocksmith Canada page.
