Quebecor Media Makes Investment In New Video Gaming Startup

Quebecor Media will be supporting eight Saguenay-based entrepreneurs to form a new video game company called BlooBuzz. Quebecor Media’s will have a majority stake, BlooBuzz will be developing casual games, with a core focus on mobile platforms.

“Quebecor Media’s participation in this project reflects our will to contribute to the development of Quebec champions in a cutting edge sector where Quebec know-how has up until now been mostly showcased by foreign studios operating here,” declared Quebecor, Quebecor Media and Sun Media Corporation President and CEO, Mr. Pierre Karl Péladeau.

The new company will be headed Éric Trudel who has a strong background in the gaming industry, including Wendigo Studios whose Timebuilders franchise saw its first two editions (Pyramid Rising and Caveman’s Prophecy) downloaded over 2 million times.
