Some new data came out from comScore’s MobiLens which indicates a huge trend with smartphone usage in Canada. According to the data, 8 million or 40% of Canadians own a smartphone device, which continues to be an upswing year over year. Canadian-based Research In Motion (RIM) continues to hold a lead in marketshare in Canada with 36%, Apple with 30% and Google Android-based devices with 25%.

Guess there is something to be said for the pride that Canadians have in their “home town heros,” but can RIM continue to count on that in 2012?
