Video Ad Network BrightRoll $30 Million in Funding, Identifies Canada As Key Target Market

We all know that online video continues to be a hot segment of the market, and advertising within online video only continues to increase year after year. US-based video advertising network BrightRoll who recently set up shop here in Canada, is looking to make a big splash in the Great White North. During last week’s official Canadian launch party I had a chance to a catch up with Charles Whittingham, Senior Vice President of Sales who shared his excitement for the opportunity that lies ahead for BrightRoll in Canada.  As part of their international expansion plans, Charles shared that Canada is a key market for the company and plans to make a big splash in this country.  Earlier today the company also announced it has closed a round of $30 million in financing.  New investor Trident Capital led the equity financing and Senior Managing Director Evangelos Simoudis will be joining the BrightRoll board. Existing investors True Ventures, Scale Venture Partners and Adams Street Partners all participated, as did Comerica Bank.
