We mentioned last month that TELUS was getting ready to launch its own APP store, still scratching my head as to the value to customers above and beyond the existing app stores that each smart phone manufactures offers. None the less, TELUS and mPortal have announced a new partnership to offer the TELUS App House to its customer base, and works with iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone 7 devices. As of the launch, the new store is only available on some Blackberry models, and will be rolled out to iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone 7 very shortly.
The question still still stands, can carrier-branded smartphone app stores do a better job than manufacture-owned app stores?
