GREY Canada has done some good work over the years, but then something happened behind the scenes and they went quiet. Stephanie Nerlich took the helm as President And CEO back in March of this year but something still seemed missing.  Last week GREY Canada announced it has acquired Birthplace, a multidisciplinary agency specializing in emerging channels, founded by Patrick Scissons.  The agency was founded in 2009, and grew to a staff of 20 with offices in Toronto and Vancouver.

The acquisition will give the agency a much needed creative talent roster to GREY, Patrick who had a brief stint at younger brother Michael’s Syncapse.  Before that he was Creative Director at BBDO.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Update: We have been told that “all the digital and branded content people at Birthplace will be joining Grey Canada.”
