Ottawa’s Carleton University announced late last week the availability of a new app for Android and iPhone mobile devices that gives students access to various resources at their educational institution. Using built in GPS on the phone, students can use the app to navigate their way around the campus. As well, students now have access to view their grades and course schedules on their mobile device, with the added ability to search courses by term and to look at previous year’s course schedules.

The application also features student news, Carleton sports teams athletic news, the Carleton_U Twitter stream and an app feedback form.

“We wanted to offer students access to information at their fingertips. Carleton Mobile helps them manage their day-to-day university experience and offers them another way to stay connected to Carleton.” says Suzanne Blanchard, Associate Vice-President (Students and Enrolment) and University Registrar. “By giving them access to their course schedule, grades, a campus map and relevant news, we feel we are doing just that.”

The app was developed by College Mobile.
