As they get ready for NXNE later this week, AOL Canada and Spinner.ca have launched a new their MyNXNE iPhone app, social contesting today. They have also announced they will be sponsoring the DEVO and Men Without Hats concert at Yonge and Dundas Square on June 18. On both Spinner.ca and via the MyNXNE app, consumers can win concert access and other Spinner and NXNE prizes by sharing Spinner.ca articles to their social networks, they partnered with Shweet.com for this new campaign.

AOL Canada will also use their sponsorship to take time and welcome concert go-ers with hot-pressed custom AOL/NXNE t-shirts. AOL’s very own, Spinner.ca’s music editor and scene expert, Josh Ostroff, who will be interviewing bands backstage including DEVO and Men Without Hats. This original online video will be available on the AOL sites.

AOL will dominate the square with three tri-vision boards and video ads that showcase AOL properties, including Spinner.ca, the new AOL.ca homepage and the recently launched HuffingtonPost.ca. The ads will run for eight weeks beginning June 13th and video ads will also be shown in the PATH, Downtown Toronto’s underground walkway servicing 28 km of shopping and entertainment.
