Just a few weeks ago Ted Livingston got strong confirmation that his startup Kik has a very good potential of disrupting the Group Messaging business as they confirmed $8 in Series A funding from RRE Ventures, Spark Capital, and Union Square Ventures.  Today news has come out that Ted has donated $1 million to The University of Waterloo’s VeloCity Residence, which is a startup initiative for digital and mobile startups.

This is not only generous of Ted but also incredibly inspiring to see an entrepreneur to give back to the community. Oh and what is ever more amazing, Ted is only 23.
