Dose.ca is getting into the music business. Well not “yet” any ways, but their recent exclusive Canadian partnership could just be the first step in many turn them into an online destination to purchase music. Arturo Duran, President, Interactive and Business Integration, CanWest MediaWorks Inc. says “with our full suite of online destinations, including canada.com, working.com and driving.ca as well as Dose.ca, we provide our clients with one-stop-shopping in their quest to reach their target markets.” Perhaps I’m jumping the gun a little bit but I’d be willing to make a bet that we’ll see some sort of play deep into the online music sales business soon.
Dose being that edgy and hip online destination made is a great choice for Universal Music to create an exclusive Canadian partnership with to help promote the launch of U2’s next album “U218” due out in stores on November 21. The contest which was launched on Monday and will run for two weeks actually starts at U2’s site U2.com and brings entrants to the Dose site where they participate in a search for excerpts of U2 lyrics on a host of international sites including Dose.ca The contest is called “Hunt The Lyric” and ends on November 3rd.
Looks like Dose’s Marketing Manager Scott Andrews is holding true to his committee to deliver more from the property after their August 31 announced of the re-launch of the site. What is surprising is that they haven’t embraced videoblogging yet, but maybe it is just a matter of time.
