Dre LabreMike Parker, managing director of Tribal DDB Canada has promoted Dré Labre to creative director, to handle the agency’s rapidly expanding business in Toronto. Recently, he helped develop the ground-breaking Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) Chicago USB Drop campaign in collaboration with DDB Canada. This year Labre was also hands-on in the redesign of the Gatorade.ca website, which included the popular hockey stick pile promotion, involving Sidney Crosby. Labre’s work has also been instrumental in helping Tribal DDB win important business, including the high-profile shoot-out competition for the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership earlier in January. “I’m excited to take on this latest challenge. We’ve got a great team here, and I’ve got a lot of heart for what we can accomplish. Watch out!” says Labre.

Metroland taps Leslie Andrachuk as director of online operations and site development. Metroland has a stable of online properties including Eye Weely.com (which we reported on here), Insidetoronto.ca and toronto.com.

Hill & Knowlton bulks up their technology communications practice. They recently added Jennifer Drogell as account director with a portfolio including management of product launches, street campaigns and consumer programs for Motorola Canada. Suzanne Hicks joins to handle media relations for HP Canada’s Imaging and Printing Group. Leslie Whitelaw has joined as senior consultants and will work on consumer media relations and marketing for HP Canada. Sharon Fernandes, Emilija Businskas and Samantha Freeman-Attwood have been hired as assistant consultants to work on the HP account.
Canoe has hired Stephen Evans as Vice-President and Editor of emerging products. Evans comes over from MSN Canada where he was has Director of the MSN Information Services and Merchant Platform. Stéphane Bossé has joined Canoe as strategic alliance director. Bossé has worked at Sympatico for the last six years, first as an account manager and later as director of strategic alliances.

GJP Advertising has hired Karin Campbell as Director of Public Relations as they look to expand their presence across not only Canada, but also the United States.
