A group of PR practitioners and we dare say “PR 2.0” enthusiasts have come together to launch a monthly meetup for similar minded PR professionals. Third Monday will be for those in Ottawa, while the home for Toronto will be Third Tuesday.

Joseph shares some thoughts on what has lead up to the formation of this group, “we believe that public relations practitioners have a unique perspective on social media. We look at social media as an extension of the conversations we have always had with journalists and stakeholders to now include a much larger group of citizen journalists and interested people whose online conversations lead to the formation of communities of interest.”

How do you go about launching a new group to talk about how the world of PR has changed is evolving? Bring none other then seasoned PR vet Shel Israel who’s also a published auther of Naked Conversations, a book on corporate blogging.shel isreal

Founding members include Joseph Thornley, David Jones, Terry Fallis, Ed Lee and Chris Clarke in Toronto and Colin McKay, Brendan Hodgson and Ian Ketcheson in Ottawa.

To join the group’s mailing list or attend the event go here – Third Monday (Ottawa,) and Third Tuesday (Toronto).
