WIND Mobile Adds 39,000 New Subscribers In Q1, Says Its The Fastest Growing Carrier

WIND Mobile continues to growth spree as one of Canada’s newest wireless carriers, today the company has announced they have added 39,000 new subscribers in Q1, WIND Mobile claimed 30 per cent of the subscriber growth in the quarter nationally.

“These numbers prove what we at WIND already knew – Canadians are tired of paying sky-high prices and want a real wireless alternative,” said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman of Globalive Communications and WIND Mobile. “It is proof that wireless competition has been long overdue and Canadians are sending a clear signal that they have opted for WIND because of a true value for dollar offering and a positive customer service experience.”

Looking a bit deeper, WIND also says they are now available in over 500 locations across Canada, roaming to over 200 countries and planning to expand the network coverage in the coming year.  Combining the subscriber growth, resellers across Canada and their wireless network they are now feel they are the fastest growing carrier in Canada.

“The results are clear. The market is shifting. WIND is proving to be the competitive alternative for Canadians,” said Ken Campbell, CEO of WIND Mobile. “Our message of value and customer service is resonating with consumers and attracting them at an accelerating rate.”

In the fall of 2010, WIND released a study showing that over 85 per cent of Canadians agreed that there are more choices available for mobile phone services than one year ago. The survey also showed that 72 per cent of Canadians say they have more freedom now that they can avoid contracts and over half of Canadians feel that there is more value in their mobile offering.
