Week That Was – 2007-08-03

Google Finance Canada was quietly launched last week, there are no major features to the existing Google Finance product, it will however provide Canadian specific financial data, portfolios in Canadian dollars and equity data to Canadian exchanges.

Silicon Valley has been on a high for at least the last two years, everyday we are hearing about a new start-up being launched and with it funding dollars that are being spent. Other parts of Canada have also seen a big spike in start-up growth such as Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver so the news of the Toronto’s Venture Group shutting its doors is pretty disappointing, but a sign of bigger problems.

Here are some of the other industry stories and news that we talked about in this edition of The Week That Was.
