May 28 to June 1, 2007- Overview -

Toronto’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry cluster will come together to celebrate being the largest high-tech hub in Canada and the third largest in North America. During this event, named “Toronto Technology Week” (TTW) a series of activities will be undertaken to showcase the depth and breath of Toronto’s high technology sector. These will include trade associations’ events such as seminars and business networking, collaboration demonstrations, school projects, educational seminars, special exhibits showcasing innovation & excellence and other sector-related activities. An organizing committee formed by a ICT industry stakeholders representing a cross-section of this industry in both the private and public sectors, has been formed to implement this initiative.

Why TTW?

Toronto Technology Week was created in response to a need to tell the story about the 3,300 ICT businesses and 150,000 people working in this industry together with a supporting network of research and educational institutions, government and other industry-related organizations, who make a significant contribution to Toronto’s economy, wellbeing and quality of life. This event is about raising local and international public awareness about Toronto, as one of the top creative and productive locations in the world for ICT research, education, business and investment.

Who supports TTW?

TTW is hosted by ICT TORONTO, an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) multi-stakeholder alliance of ICT businesses, trade associations, Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments, academia and other ICT stakeholders, formed in 2006 with the purpose of advancing the interests of the ICT industry cluster in the Toronto region. This event is supported by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT), the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance (GTMA) and the City of Toronto. Key business leaders and technology organizations are major supporters and are making a tremendous contribution to ensure the success of this initiative.
