RIM’s Bail and Buy of Chalk Media For $2.2M+

RIMRemember that show “Chalk TV” back in the day with hosts David Chalk and Mike Agerbo?  Well, the pair split, Mike moved on to Get Connected which has had some trouble in 2008 finding their stride, Chalk Media’s offering has changed a few times, from online services to now offering a solution for Research In Motion (RIM) Blackberry devices.

RIM announced last week plans to acquire Chalk Media for $18.8 million CDN in cash, but not before a loan of  $2.2 million CDN is made to keep the company afloat, and fund its operations until the completion of the transaction.

Research in Motion has also made a bid of $66 million CDN ($52.6 million) for Certicom Corp., which makes encryption technology for wireless communications.
