CNN Acquires Mobile Development Shop Zite

US News organization CNN has acquired Vancouver-based mobile application development company for an undisclosed sum.  Zite develops a popular newsmagazine reader for the Apple iPad, it delivers content in a unique way by allowing users to customize the feed based on a user’s feedback and content interaction. Content is also shared via social media networks like Twitter and Facebook with the app.  Current CEO, Mark Johnson will stay on board and report to CNN Digital’s General Manager, KC Estenson.
