Fans of Canadian stars such as Bedouin Soundclash, Sarah Slean, Moneen and more than 120 international stars are all available on the site for free, as well more Canadian content will become available through the site in the coming months.

“Video may have killed the radio star, but nowadays the internet is quickly replacing music television thanks to the kind of content available at our just-launched AOL Music Canada channel,” said Joshua Ostroff, Music Editor, AOL Canada. “From exclusive and intimate live performances, to in-depth interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, AOL Music is helping to redefine what music lovers can find online.”

AOL Music Canada is part of an entire re-haul of the AOL sites around the world which went live a few weeks ago, and very quietly here in Canada. The new look has sparked some discussion and question as to why they choose to go with a look that is so similar to to the recently re-branded Yahoo site.

AOL Canada

AOL doesn’t show any love for MAC users as AOL Radio isn’t MAC compatible which on one hand makes sense when you look at the number of PCs vs. MACS in the marketplace but as these online portals continue to battle for consumers attention integration with other services will become more of an important differentiator. Wouldn’t it be great if you could purchase music from AOL Canada and upload it to your iPOD?
