As we mentioned before, programmatic digital media marketplace, The Exchange Lab had a great 2013, and finishing the year off by securing $8 million in funding, then started 2014 off by appointing Nikki Hawke to the newly created role of Director of Marketing, North America. Today, they have announced the appointment of Chris Dobson as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Chris was most recently at BBC Worldwide where he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager, BBC Advertising Division. In addition to his role on the board, Chris will provide strategic direction for the company, develop robust frameworks for delivering profitable growth and establish new relationships with key external stakeholders.
While at BBC Worldwide, Chris oversaw advertising across the company’s overseas pay-TV channels and online services and as a BBC Worldwide executive board member he was responsible for advertising monetization strategy and execution across all BBC Worldwide divisions and BBC World News. Previously, Dobson served at Microsoft for seven years as vice president and general manager of the UK Online Services Division and vice president of global ad sales and trade marketing. In these positions, Dobson played a pivotal role in monetizing Microsoft’s global content and social audience assets generating annual advertising revenues in excess of $2.5 billion. Previous roles at Microsoft include Vice President of Global Sales and Vice President of International Ad Sales and Trade Marketing.
