QNX Software Systems Limited, the company that Blackberry acquired back in 2012 has partnered with 7digital, who offers digital music platform.  The partnership will allow 7digital’s 23 million track catalogue to be available through the QNX CAR application platform

“Connected and mobile devices have changed the way music is consumed, but one thing that hasn’t is people’s desire to listen to music in the        car,” comments Ben Drury, CEO of 7digital. “We’re already working with partners in the automotive sector and now, for the first time, automotive companies using the QNX CAR platform can leverage our HTML5 music store, where their customers can access the largest collection of digital music from the convenience of their vehicles.”

This integration allows automotive manufacturers and OEMs to build digital music stores directly into QNX-powered in-car infotainment systems.  This represents a huge opportunity for Blackberry which recently released their new Z10 smartphone built on the QNX operating system.
