At the 2012 Summit Awards picked up five awards in the creative category, which is a great accomplishment for the Bensimon Byrne-owned digital agency.  Two Gold awards were given in the Consumer Product Website and Microsite categories for their Nokia X7 campaign, and a third in Guerilla Marketing for La Carnita – an art-inspired taco restaurant that recently rose to social stardom. Last but not least, they took home Silver awards for the Nokia Astound project in the Product Video category and another for Quickbooks’ ‘Big Stories of Small Business’ video series.

This year marks the eighteen year for the Summit Awards which celebrates creativity from the most talented mid-sized firms in the biz, recognizing the best and brightest in the field. Internationally renown, the awards received submissions from over 20 countries this year, making for a truly diverse selection of campaigns.

The microsite OneMethod developed for the launch of Nokia’s X7 brought the phone’s interactive capabilities to life and engaged consumers in a highly visual way. For their outside-the-box efforts they were awarded the title ‘Best of Show,’ finding themselves in the company of such formidable competitors as AV Communications campaign for BMW and Ogilvy Montreal’s global PSA for The Canadian Association of Optometrists.

La Carnita restaurant was born from combining OneMethod’s love of art with their culinary passion. To launch this unique hybrid, they were faced with the unusual problem of creating a social following for a brand still in conception. Their solution was to create a “pop-up” restaurant, which they publicized through on various social media channels. The result was a viral campaign that saw over 60 blog reviews, trended three times on Twitter, and gained more than 4,000 followers in a mere eight months.
