TSN is getting ready for the 2011-2012 hockey playoff season with its latest campaign that includes a partnership with Electronic Arts and its EA SPORTS NHL 13 video game. The “EA SPORTS NHL 13 Cover Vote” campaign is aimed to raise awareness and fan participation and a marks the first time that fans can decide which NHL player will appear on the front cover of NHL 13. The official voting for the NHL 13 Cover Vote resides on NHL.com/covervote.

As part of the partnership, TSN’s slate of hockey news programs including THAT’S HOCKEY, THAT’S HOCKEY 2NITE and NHL ON TSN will integrate NHL 13 Cover Vote content through to the completion of the voting in June. Original branded content on TSN platforms includes updates on voting from TSN’s hockey hosts and experts.

The NHL 13 Cover Vote will also be promoted prominently across TSN’s robust social network with timely posts on TSN’s industry-leading Fan Page on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #NHL13Cover.

“We’re extremely excited to be able to bring the NHL 13 Cover Vote campaign to TSN,” said David Le, Director, Marketing, EA SPORTS. “As a recognized leader in Canadian sports broadcasting, they offer unprecedented access to hockey fans across the country through great programming and top-tier social media engagement.”

“EA SPORTS has brought Canada’s favourite pastime to life on gaming systems around the world, so it’s a thrill to be exclusively partnered with them on the promotion of NHL 13 and support their cover vote for this year’s instalment of the game,” said Joe Carter, Senior Vice-President, Bell Media Sports Sales. “Working with industry-leader EA SPORTS and alongside our partners at the NHL and NHLPA on the NHL 13 Cover Vote has resulted in yet another opportunity for all parties to interact with our fans during a prime time when hockey is dominating the sports headlines.”

The winner of the NHL 13 Cover Vote will be unveiled as the EA SPORTS NHL 13 Cover Athlete at the 2012 NHL Awards on June 20 at the Wynn in Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV.
