Last week Salesforce announced it had acquired Toronto-based Rypple for an undisclosed sum, this comes less than two week after competitor SAP acquired similarly-focused SuccessFactors for $3.4 billion.  Salesforce has been on the hunt of late, and this marks the second Canadian startup they have acquired this year, back in March they acquired Radian6 for $326 million.

Rypple was founded in 2008 and has aproximately 45 employees and had raised a total of $13 million in investment. For Salesforce this deal makes sense as they look to expand their offering outside of contact management an into other enterprise software areas.
